Hi Ingrid: We're looking forward to seeing as many of your gigs as possible at the Noosa Jazz Festival in September. What a pity Adrian won't be there but it sounds as though he's having a ball in the US! Melinda sends her love and so do we - Peggy & Lloyd

What a wonderful voice presenting all those old standards in a fresh way. I'm listening to your soundfiles here in good old Europe. Thanks to the WWW we are able to make such 'discoveries' in a part of the world which is so much dominated by the US music industry. Congratulations to your web appearance, too. I've added a link to your site to my collection of musicians' and bands' URLs ( http://hepcat1950.com/ ).

Your CD launch was spectacular. I have heard some of the best in London and New York - you and the band could cut it anywhere. I do hope you reach the audience that you so richly deserve with this CD. All very best, Mick.

Thank you for your wonderful performances at the Kiama Jazz Festival 2005. Thought your performance at the Noosa Jazz Festival 2004 was innovative and melodic - in other words, terrific. I'll be at the 2005 Noosa Jazz Festival with bells on.

'Lazy Afternoon' is playing as I write, and as usual, Ingrid creates the ambience she's singing about.Like a lot of Brissie jazz lovers, I try to catch Ingrid's gigs at the Stones, BJC, Belushi's...wherever. She makes an audience feel like close friends, with her warm tone and personality. Ingrid's gorgeous voice can create the gentlest 'Love is Here to Stay',the beltingest 'Steppin' Out'- and you can count on her having brilliant musos too.

There's a new star in the Jazz firmament-Ingrid James!. Congratulations Ingrid. If your new album is as good as Lazy Afternoon it will be stunning indeed. Is it available in the States?

You must be a big star in Australia with the amount of work you are asked to do. I have heard about you over here and have your album on order. Can't wait to hear it.

As an old muso with over 50 years' experience, and having heard some of the best vocalists in the world over those years, I have to say that when I first heard Ingrid at the Noosa Jazz Festival in 2004, I couldn't believe what a wonderful singer she is. Her range, styling and ability to use her voice as a musical instrument are unbelievable. Ingrid is certainly one of the best jazz singers in Australia, and we hope to have the pleasure of hearing her perform in the near future.

Essence! Thank you Ingrid for this glorious legacy; thank you for exploring within these sacred texts and bringing out the essence and delivering it to us. Thank you for breathing them, renewing them and revealing their quiescent nuances. You have infused both words and music with your own idiosyncratic vision and left us energised in anticipation of the next revelation.
